Dear Supporter,
A new chapter in American Politics begins this Saturday, when thousands of supporters like you bring our campaign to doorsteps across the country.
Last night in New Hampshire, Barack shared his message of change in the second official Democratic debate. But engaging the other candidates is only one element of the campaign.
It’s up to each of us to engage people in our own communities. It’s going to take a movement of Americans just as hungry for change as you are to transform this election and this country.
I’m Trista Allen, and I run the Southern Field Desk for Obama for America. I’ve been working around the clock with many of you to prepare for Saturday. More than 1,000 neighborhood walks have been organized in all 50 states as part of our historic Walk for Change — find one near you.
Watch a short video and then use our interactive map to locate the closest walk in your community:

If you’ve never knocked on doors for a campaign before, don’t worry. Thousands of people participating on Saturday have never been involved in the political process. They’ve taken the leap because they know this campaign is about more than just electing a new president. When you go out into your neighborhood on Saturday, you’ll be part of a nationwide movement for fundamental change. When you talk to your neighbors, you’ll be rebuilding a sense of community and sharing our goals for the common good.
We’ve created a short training video that goes over the basics of how to canvass your neighborhood effectively. Watch the video and find a walk near you:

Barack Obama has sparked a movement of hundreds of thousands of Americans ready to take ownership of the political process and make it work for people. On Saturday, June 9th, our movement will take action on an unprecedented scale, and there’s still time for you to be a part of this historic day.
It’s going to be huge — and this is just the beginning.
Thank you,
The Walk for Change Field Team
